WE BELIEVE that clouds are unjustly maligned and that life would be immeasurably poorer without them.
We think that they are Nature’s poetry, and the most egalitarian of her displays, since everyone can have a fantastic view of them.
We pledge to fight ‘blue-sky thinking’ wherever we find it. Life would be dull if we had to look up at cloudless monotony day after day.
We seek to remind people that clouds are expressions of the atmosphere’s moods, and can be read like those of a person’s countenance.
We believe that clouds are for dreamers and their contemplation benefits the soul. Indeed, all who consider the shapes they see in them will save money on psychoanalysis bills.
And so we say to all who’ll listen:
Look up, marvel at the ephemeral beauty, and always remember to live life with your head in the clouds!
A 97 year old billionaire designed a single dorm building to house 4,500 students
I’m making a post about this because it’s driving me wild that this project is seemingly actually being made.

Charlie Munger and UCSB want to cram 4,500 students into this building like sardines.
The tiny bedrooms in Munger Hall will not have windows which will lead to high depression rates and is a massive fire hazard, it’s 11 stories tall right next to an airport, there is very little parking, and a fire department chief stated that they do not have the personnel to deal with a fire in a building this size (1.6 million square feet).
Architect Dennis McFadden quit the project because he felt it was so immoral, stating that the building would be “a social and psychological experiment with an unknown impact on the lives and personal development of the undergraduates the University serves.”
The billionaire funding and doing a lot of design for this building is very close to Warren Buffett and has no formal training in architecture. He insists that his design be followed exactly as a condition for funding.
Details of this building’s problems are under the cut.
